Fabric acrylic, and textile foil on canvas
32 × 33 cm (12.6 × 13 in)
Produced during a university fashion textile rotation, this composition represents a deliberate advancement in screen-printing experimentation. Utilising a mixture of salvaged pigment remnants collected within the studio, the work purposefully layers a graphic smiley face motif over fluid, blended colour fields. By embedding structured pop iconography directly into a spontaneous material layer, the canvas documents an early inquiry into visual layering and graphic containment. This foundational exercise establishes a clear conceptual link to the way recognisable symbols interact with the heavy surface texturing found in the contemporary portfolio.
